THIS IS AN E-MAIL I RECIEVED REGARDING A FUND RAISING EVENT IN CLEATOR ON THE 29TH OF SEPTEMBER.
I will be having a table and display there, and hope everyone gives it support. Sounds like a good family day out!!

Hi Keith,we are currently organising a family fun day in Cleator for Saturday 29th September with all proceeds going to the BaasGalgo Association to help fund the building of a new shelter for abandoned and abused greyhounds, over 50,000 of these beautiful dogs are murdered every year at the end of the hunting season, these shelters give the hunters somewhere to "dump" their dogs rather than kill them, often slowly and painfully. In May this year a couple from moor row adopted a dog named Caramelo,he had been shot in the leg and abandoned,he was found starving with an infection in the wound and ended up having a paw amputated whilst still in spain, when Angela and Steve got him over here it was found he still had lead shot in his leg and after discussing it with their vet it was decided the best thing to do was remove his leg at the shoulder. While he was in the shelter he shared a kennel with a dog called Suggus,he was found in February ratching in bins starving, with one of his back legs hanging off and severely infected needless to say he lost his back leg,it is unclear what happened to him but he could have been hit by a car, anyway my partner and i have adopted him and he arrives in the uk on 16th september.
Now back to the fun day! we are currently looking for local businesses to take on a table to promote themselves and sell their products, the event is planned to run from 10-4 and tables are £20. We have also got a special guest coming on the day Thelma Madine from my big fat gypsy wedding, she is bringing one of her wedding dresses up and also one of the girls that is currently on Thelmas Gypsy Girls on sunday nights, she offered to do this, she wasn't asked and she is also donating something for our raffle but as yet she won't tell me what! We are also having a kids pet show, various prize stalls, raffle, tombola and refreshments available all day. I just wondered wether you would be interested in having a table, there will probably be a lot of pet owners there as it is for dogs, and your dog gallery on your website is amazing and also family portrait opertunities with a gypsy wedding dress,i hope this is of interest to you and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks for reading this if you have got this far,Sean

Think this is a wonderful idea, and I will be attending with Ann and Keith. I have a rescued greyhound and they make the most wonderful pets, I would adopt another one. Does the rescue centre have a web site?
